I don't recall where I got the idea, but I wonder if it would work. I could use the land plane/land leveler on the front leveling the road, then follow it up with my EA grader blade on the back.

Having it on the front would mean that the tires and wheels are driving over less rough terrain meaning the front will dip and rise much less. That's the theory anyway.

Thoughts?

i dont know of any compact tractor loader that would stand up to that kind of stress. you would really have to watch for issues. Maybe build a frame mount lift just for that.

I can't see how loader arms or mounts would hold up for more than a short distance. People have posted several times how they bent or broke them under a whole lot less stress.

I have a skid steer style 6 foot wide land plane on the front of the 5 foot wide Toolcat. Works gooder-un in the clay.

Have not used it much on gravel yet, but I need to.

Here is one way to convert a 3 point land plane or box blade for light duty work:

2016 I bought a used Kubota B26 from a local rental business. He also brought over a landpride land plane to try. He had modified with ssqa plate on the back. I used it with as 3pt on a bigger tractor. Didn’t buy it but after seeing the the results bought a EA LP.
Do think it would take a stout loader like a skidsteer to operate.

Would like to think my M59 could out pull a skidsteer. There are places on my driveway a 6’ LP strains my machine for traction. Some equipment works better pulled.

I sure wouldn't want to put my Land Pride LPGS on my Kubota M6040 FEL. It's a 2584 and is a pretty fair pull on the 3-point on certain parts of my driveway. Beside - most of the time I run the LPGS with the scarifiers down an inch or so - just more load to pull.

I have a roadboss like xfaxman posted and have pushed it literally hundreds of miles with skid steers and it works great. I have never connected it to a tractor. As others have said I don’t think tractor loader arms would handle the stress.

Yep, that is one reason that I graduated from tractors to better machines for what I need to do.
