Land between the lakes is definitely worth it. I think it is 2500 acres (I'm not sure about that), and they have campgrounds. I think it costs $15 for a three day pass. It has been 2 years since I have been there, but it is the best riding area within 100 miles of me.

I like the big 4-strokes too. I ride a YZ 426 and I will probably never go back to 2-strokes. If you are interested in whats new, Yamaha's new WR is a 450cc this year. Titanium 5-valve head with ELECTRIC START. I would have gotten a WR but I am a novice motocrosser, and I happened to have a nice used YZ at the time. By the way, I had 2 different XR 250's before I became a Yamaha dealer(1989 and 1996). I think the XR line is the very pinnacle of Japanese engineering and quality(shared with YZ technology).

Marty-St Joe is in Farmington MO. It is really a wonderful area for a family riding trip. They also have camping facilities. I have never camped there, but I think someone told me once that they even have showers.

Here's a pic of my ride (2000 XR650R) and my future riding buddy. He's only two, but I can't wait until he has his own bike. I'm torn between a bike and a 4-wheeler for my 5 year-old daughter. She drives a Polaris 250 around at the in-laws farm by herself. I think a 2 wheels will instill respect quicker than 4 wheels.
