Boeing; I was I was at Ft. Campbell (101st airborne) in 1966-1967. We had one of those things in our communications unit. When we went into the field we used that for carrying phone wire and etc. Roughest vehicle I was ever on. I think they were built to carry ammo. We had to remove and roll up all of our phone wire when we left a training area and sitting on the back of that thing using a contraption we built for rolling up phone wire was a killer. I kid you not that thing is dangerous.

There is a guy not far from me that is one of the major parts suppliers. He actually let us tool around on one and they're pretty neat machines. Their capabilities immense. Parts are expensive and they're very hard to find. Especially engine parts. Then on top of that you have the weird military/government overbuilt wacky design flaws. I was thinking about one a while ago to haul water with. it would work great, but I couldn't find one that was in functional shape for a fair price. Everything was either junk or expensive.
