Anyone built a deck with one of the Brazilian woods?

I love the grey wood, matches my beard. I've have some left over massanaruba from a fence job I did many years ago. It is inside and looks just as good as the day we bought it. The sideboards on the welding truck on the other hand are hansom grey. Massandaruba is also called Brazilian teak or ironwood. Iron wood, the reason for the sideboards on the welding rig, won't float, too heavy.

Working with it you want to wear goggles and a respirator, tough stuff. As of oiling it, we used the best stuff we could find on the fence and all it did was make it look wet until the oil evaporated. Oil won't penetrate into the grain.

On the boardwalks in NJ they have tried various woods, I believe ipe was one of them, but I don't know what they use now or who you could find out from. They even tried aluminum 1.5 x 3.5 inch tube, but it was so hot that no one could stand to walk on it.
