I love the grey wood, matches my beard. I've have some left over massanaruba from a fence job I did many years ago. It is inside and looks just as good as the day we bought it. The sideboards on the welding truck on the other hand are hansom grey. Massandaruba is also called Brazilian teak or ironwood. Iron wood, the reason for the sideboards on the welding rig, won't float, too heavy.
Working with it you want to wear goggles and a respirator, tough stuff. As of oiling it, we used the best stuff we could find on the fence and all it did was make it look wet until the oil evaporated. Oil won't penetrate into the grain.
