Anybody need a new circular saw?

I have an old Makita saw that my father in law had and I love it. Had used that same saw model on a few jobs and was glad to get it. Never had my hands on a worm drive. Never seen one on the job, must be a regional thing. Ed

I cut the cord several years ago on hand power tools, started with drills, now I've gone to>> Dewalt 20-Volt Max Lithium-Ion 6-1/2 in. Cordless Circular Saw, bought that circular saw last year to add a pantry on the house, this will cut 2x4s like butter with no flipping cord to plug in or get tangled up on, just crab and cut. It will cut a lot of 2x4s on one battery and it's a lot faster, lot lighter, more comfortable then the Milwaukee V28 I have, I don't even like that saw anymore.

After I bought my 7 1/4" Milwaukee 18 volt cordless I haven't used my old Home Hardware corded saw.

Milwaukee 18v needs to pickup the pace, a slow 3500 rpm, that's why the new Dewalt 20v cuts so much faster it's screaming at 5250 rpm and it makes a smoother cut.
