Ok, then the servo valve is not adjusted right. You want to loosen the jam nut and screw in the servo bolt clockwise to adjust it to be more aggressive. I will try again to post a picture of the valve so that people can see which one it is and what screw to turn. It is the little rectangular black valve on top of the transmission with the linkage running to it. The jam nut is a 14mm and the bolt is a large flat blade screwdriver type. Try about a turn at a time to begin with, then fine tune it to your liking. You want the engine to pull down just a little, so that it is right in its peak power range, but not too much or you will loose power and the machine will stall out. This is also the other common problem some have with having to back out of the throttle on hills. Try this and let me know if it works.

My offer still stands to MessickFarm that if he or some of the employees disagree with me, lets talk about it to further everyones knowlede. This is why the web based interfaces as you call them were created. Lets all work together to cure the common problems, because as we all can see, these are not just issues faced in Canada.

I'm a middleman here, I don't touch wrenches. I forwarded this info to our service guys who say they have never needed to touch a servo on an RTV, and we sell over one a week. There is also no mention of this procedure on any of our internal service info. I don't doubt that its made an improvment for some guys, but I'd be very cautious since no one offical is saying anything about the long term impact of this on the transmission. This is the kinda stuff that should be done by a dealer under direction of Kubota. Say you make these adjustments on your own and damage your machine (which is very possible), will you expect warrenty coverage based on somthing you read on the internet?! I hate to be a wet blanket on this whole thing, you guys know I'm all for pushing as much information to the internet as possible, but I am sure this is smart.

Neil,I am not a big wrench man myself. On my Kubota 2006 RTV 900 I had the drive shaft rattle to beat the band.I took it to my dealer 2 times for a replacement drive shafts,it never cured the problem. After reading a internet fix for the rattle www.cornejo.net/rtv900 who had the fix.I took the info in hand to my Kubota dealer and he fixed the rattle.I also installed the neutral valve after reading about it, dargo a member on this site installed it in his RTV so I tried it also in mine, what a difference.IMHO somethings you read on the net are good.Take care, coobie

Verry good point Messick. I agree with you on the fact that not everything that you read is fact.

It is becoming more and more clear that Kubota USA really needs to do some training for the techs on these machines to fix some of these issues. I have a cd rom, books, notes and memory from the kubota course that I was just at in Markam Ontario, Kubota Canada's head office and training center. These adjustments that I have been helping others with have come directly through head office and are being taught to every Kubota technitian in Canada, and have been for at least 2 years now. Maybee we have more hilly ground than you to see more issues that are power related? I know that in central Canada it is mostly all flat, and the dealers there know nothing about low power issues, but here in the west we have some really nasty country that you need all the power you can get.

Either way, Im not taking a shot at you, but I think that Kubota USA needs to pull their head out of their ***** as far as training on these machines go, especially if your dealership has no data or training for how to adjust hst pressures and performance! After all, training is one of the best ROI that any company can ever do.

matt, noticabley more power, able to use med on hills now. the adjustment screw seamed to have bottomed out after about 1 1/4 so i backed off about 1/4 turn. by the way we have them junk mattracks on the rtv and need as much power as we can get out of it. do you have any other tricks up your sleave?

The only other thing to do other than a turbo would be to increase the maximum rpm of the engine to 3600 from 3200. The 1100 comes in other versions and applications that run the engine at 3600 rpm and it is the EXACT same engine. This is not really an adjustment that you should do without accurate rpm measurement and some experience. Is the machine off warranty? If not, you are basically stuck unless you want to void the engine warranty. I have done this to a couple of machines that really needed the added power, and it definately makes a noticeable difference in power. Tracks on a rtv just dont work well, they just plain do not have enough power to use them to their potential. Now if you turbo it, thats a different story. It is amazing what these machines will do with another 10-15 hp. Unfortunately, this is how I think they should have came from the factory.

Forgot to ask. Does the engine lug down a little now, or does it still stay reved up? You need to get it to lug the engine a little to get the most out of it so the engine can put all the power it has to the ground.

no warenty here anymore. the engine does bog down a bit more now, but it seams like the tranny slips still. turbo does sound good where is the best place to get one?

There is a company in the states that sells kits, but they are fairly pricey. Work good though. If I had tracks on a rtv, it would have to have a turbo. Maybee someone else can chime in if they remember the name of the company that makes and sells the kits.
