I'm getting concerned that Matt has dissapeard from the board.

I hope that Kubota didn't silence him for helping us out where our dealers would not.

My thoughts exactly... I referred him to some RTV problems on another forum, and he posted some helpful information there... his posts have suddenly stopped on that site also. I can imagine Kubota telling him things like "you're taking maintenance work away from our dealers", or "having owners do these types of adjustments could cause additional warranty problems...", etc.

It is a **** shame if that is what happened... he was a wealth of knowledge, obviously knew what he was talking about, and was a true representative of what customer service should be. I wish his dealership was near me... I've never felt this way before, but he is actually the type of dealer I would pay higher initial prices to, just so that I could get GREAT and knowledgeable customer service.

Westbrook,

It appears that he was silenced, as there have been no responses. This is unfortunate, mainly for Kubota.

My dealer and obviously many others told us that we had to live with this thing as it is. This was clearly unacceptable as the 500 was a real dog in it's factory configuration. The minor tweaks the he gave us made it more tolerable.

I asked my dealer no less than six times over this past year about this and they said there is no fix, it is what it is. I would have paid them to fix it if they would have.

I was thinking of upgrading to a 900 for a little more power, but if this is how they handle employees trying to help frustrated customers, my business will go elsewhere. I'm not spending this kind of money again to be dissapointed given that there is now no help to be had.

And along with this goes the thousands in accessories that I have bought, and would have bought for the 900 along with the Kubota OEM parts that I buy to maintain my equipment.

This is really sad, I hope I'm wrong.

Tim I was thinking the same thing that Kubota would not like advice given here. Thats why I posted the KUBOTA MANAGMENT thread. What a bunch of low lifes. I still get mad about my rattle....Is totally unacceptable and yet not one factory recall for all the thousands of units that rattle ust like mine or for the miserable factory setup with the low power. I finially did the adjustments like you told me and it made it a totally different machine....I scoot right up my steep drive without having to shift to low gear....before i did.....dont noitice any top speed improvement but just better power and throttle response....Kubota managment s_cks.

I agree with you...I'm pretty dissapointed if what appears to have happened, happened.

I'm really glad that all worked out for you though. You're right that there's no upper speed improvement, but it helps running around on the hills though.

I'm getting the feeling that Kubota is an "over the curb" company when it comes to these things. The 500 is probably just a pain for them to address. So they don't. Would be nice if they would address the issues themselves. I know that their management trolls these boards from time to time.

My guess is that there is much more service money to be had with the big AG machines, so they just ignore us.

It shouldn't have taken this long to get an answer to this power problem. i was getting sick of myself for the continuous postings. It's obvious that the 500 wasn't ready for prime time. You and I had a couple of the first ones out there, so we really got it handed to us.

Thanks to Matt, not our dealers, we have tolerable machines now.

Fool me once..You know how that saying goes.

From matt's advise, I have my 500 at the dealer now trying to get them to tweak the rpms and the servo. Will let everyone know the outcome.

Unfortunately it would appear that Matt has been silenced. Ifthat is the case then shame on the tyrants. I received more helpful advise in reading his posts then from any other source. Matt if you arestill out there and you have been silenced, join up under an alias and offer low key advice....WE MISS YOU

Matt,

At least let us know that you are alive and kicking. A short message like "all is well, I am just extremely busy...." would suffice.

What alias did Matt use? If he is coming to TBN and logged in, you can see where he is, as well as the last time he did anything. If he's just checking in as a guest, sool. Look at his profile, under statistics, last activity.

We really cannot think anything negative about Matt.......He must value his position just as he values his "customers". Obviously though Kubota does not value him expressing his opinion here and the silence is deafening........God bless YOU Matt......Dennis

Have any of you tried sending a private message to Matt? It seems to me that you may be assuming something without the facts. Or maybe you do have some facts I don't know about. Is there some reason to believe that Kubota asked him to quit posting? You know we sometimes have members who just quit participating on TBN for their own personal reasons, such as not enough time, too many other things to do, spend more time with family, etc.

Yes.
I tried, no reply.

There have been other Kubota trained or Kubota employed people on this site in the past.
They come, they go, just like everyone else. Someone new will show up again. No worries.

He worked for a dealership (like I do). It was in his signature as a New Holland / Kubota mechanic. He was not a factory guy. Just so you guys know. I had our service guys look at this thread as well and they concluded that the advice he was giving may not have been correct. Not everything you read on the internet is true.

OK if it's wrong, why did it work?

The minor tweaks made an unacceptable machine semi-tolerable.

By the way, I verified the suggested changes with Kubota, Non-U.S.

Just because you don't know about it, doesn't mean it's not so.

This was done with Matt's permission and using the phone number on the website.

Sorry guys, was away on a trip, then have been totally swamped with work lately. I will try to catch up to what has gone on since I was gone.

Kubota did not talk to me and try to silence me. Even if they did, I wouldnt. This is to better their product and the customers opinion of it, not to hurt it as some might think. No worries, I am a pretty laid back guy.

MessickFarm, could you please elaborate on the statement that some of my info has not been accurate? I am always open to all opinions so please do elaborate. All of the info that I have given has been learned from years of experience and training direct from Kubota. You are right, I do not work at a Kubota factory, but I am a trained tech that works on them every day, so I have a fairly good idea as to what works and does not. Who do you think the factory guys and engineers went to to get the problems sorted out with the rtv's, and other products? It is almost always the techs in the field that figure out the real world solutions to the real world problems that we face. Each problem is usually caused by a specific unique situation that is not known in Japan. If you feel that I am that wrong that you need to say it to the public, back it up. PM me your number and who I should talk to to discuss where they do not agree with me so that we can all be on the same page.

Thanks guys for the support.

These are the examples of why I get so irritated at some of the other dealers about this kind of stuff. We KNOW that there is a fix. We KNOW that it can be done simply, easily and cheaply. So WHY not do it? If you dont know, ask someone who does. Most of this stuff can be done by the customer if needed as I have proven.

It appears to me that Kubota USA needs a kick in the pants on this one. They need to teach their dealers on the product that they are selling so they do not continue to look like complete a$$es.
