Any truck tractors?

I'm looking for pictures of trucks turned into makeshift tractors.

I've been collecting some parts for this type of project... the vision I have is starting with a 2wd V10 ford, divorced t-case, mounting a narrowed ranger cab, rockwell axles with filled 53" Michelins

I know, not as good as a real tractor, but I love building stuff. Should be good enough to push some snow and maybe some other chores.

Awesome! At least now I know what they're called so I can search them. Still, I'd like to find examples of even more modern day vehicles converted to tractors. Found a nice 99 F250 on kijiji... V10, 2wd, crew cab (not that that matters), for under $3K. That would make a great starter for what I have in mind.

A divorced transfer case is one attached with a driveshaft to the transmission. Not coupled directly to your out put shaft on the very end of tranny, LUTT

There is a short, exposed driveshaft between the transmission and the transfer case. When"married," the transfer case and the transmission case are bolted together, or are one unit.

Yup what they said. Makes converting a 2wd truck to 4wd easyer as long as the wheelbase is long enough.

Unimogs are awesome, and I'd have one in a min. but they're rare, expensive or antiques... at least where I am... and like I said; I like projects. I talked about making my own version before starting with something like this;


...but this will be a single seater narrowed 1/4T cab. Enter/exit either side, straddle the tranny tunnel... : )
