Unless you can write off the costs, I would think that renting is the way to go. I have not done any general aviation flying lately, but just the cost of fuel has got to be very pricey. On the other hand, if ownership is something you've always wanted, then go for it. Just do your homework so you have an idea of the true cost of ownership. With the current economic situation there may be some real bargains out there.
