Is there any company that makes a joy stick controll for the FEL. Im thinking of a joystick like you would use on a computer, for games. It would be located to the right(or left) of the arm rest on the CUT. I would think it would be much more egonomic than the current stick used on a FEL.

check out the joystick used on a century tractor. It mounts on the fender and cables run to the valve.. It is alot handier as it is out of the way of getting off the tractor and very smooth operating. If there isn't any dealers near you search for AMERICAN JAWA LTD and send them a email for info and price. But if a dealer is near go check them out.

I don't know but the joy stick is seperate from the valve and you could adapt it and mount it wearever you want. on the century it is on the fender and the cables run down and back up so they are out of the way when you get on and off that side. I'll try and get time and find a pic within the next couple days

What do you have now? Most new tractors that I have seen come with a joystick, unless you are referring to something different that what I have on my TC29D. I considered it a joystick and out of the way but still easy to use.

In fact I thought you did buy a New Holland??

Im looking at a Kubota L3430. The stock joystick is more like a stick. Im thinking more like a computer joystick that fits right in your hand. It would be located much closer to your seat than the traditional location.

I looked on Centurys website, but dident find any pics of it.

If you mean electrically controlled, the answer is maybe. The problem with most hydraulic/electric controls is that they cannot be feathered. In other words it is either on or off, as is the flow to the cylinder. This not very conducive to smooth operation. There are some systems out there which allow proportional flow with electric controls, not particularly designed with loaders in mind and not particularly designed with economy in mind either. That is why most loader mfg's use cables to remotely control valves.

If you mean a hydraulic joystick valve, there are several available. but you will have hoses very near your body, which may or may not be very comfortable.

I would try out the factory controls for awhile before I started modifying anything. We have a forklift at work with electric over hydraulic controls and it's much harder to use than the other lifts or my tractor with direct controls.

Like Jim said, it's on or off. Folks have dropped stuff with this lift due to it's jerky nature. Just my $.02...

Check out the one New Holland uses you'll love it. I am sure it could be modified for your application. My TC is equipped with one and its in just the right spot.

Boy, I couldn't agree more. I find the deluxe joystick on the D models very comfortable to use. Mine just kind of falls in to your hand when you sit down.
Job Well Done, New Holland !!

The Case 580M we have at work has a nice joystick too. It's located in the right spot for your hand when using the arm rest and the grip is contored. It even has two push buttons for your thumb, the transmition disconnect and the diff lock, very convenent.

My Kubota L4610 HST cab, L782 loader, came with joystick. It is a little in the way of getting in on that side of cab, but works great. I say it is so smooth I can thread a needle with it.

I don't play computer games but I've seen pics of the handpiece on controllers. The NH Class III Deluxe sure feels like the computer game controllers look. I agree with MarkinNH and Pineridge - this is what you are looking for.....

Mark

I've attached a picture - the joystick is mounted to the right fender and has an orange face-plate. The center of the joystick has two thumb buttons for a high/low speed selection.

The one PineRidge Ranch has On his NH is what i am looking for.

I looked on Kubotas website, but there was no mention of it. Anyone know where I can get a pic of the Kubota one?

thanks for your help.

Some of the skid steer loaders have a nice control they call a "pilot-operated joystick control" They feel more like a computer joystick than a conventional loader joystick because there is no heavy spring to overcome. And you can feather them very nicely. Maybe the joystick is a low pressure, low flow circuit that controls a bigger circuit doing the work?

I suppose you have the same joystick I have. Mine is fender mounted, and is too low and to close to the HPL lever. I have grabbed the wrong stick 5 or 6 times already. Also, that low stick is nice while sitting, but I can't reach it while I'm standing up. I prefer the "high and front" location, although it blocks egress from the tractor on the right side.

Is this joystick that NH uses on the TC models universal to other brands as well?? and does it use cables?

Made 'em. 1" box steel about 3' high. There are already holes under the stickers on your loader uprights - bolted there. Drilled and bolted on mirrors - trailer mirrors from Autozone. Bolted on floods and ran hot wire down the center of the "stalks" (which serve as grounds.)

Only complaint - they are not spaced wide enough to see clearly around the back. I will be attaching the swing-away stalks that came with the heads to widen my view.

Mark
