does anyone know how hot you must get your engine before running on grease? I typically go about 12-15 miles on my usual work trip. I'm thinking at that distance, i might not be warm enough to burn grease.. True? About once a week I might do 50-75 miles, but it's not worth the cost to install this for a weekly trip..

Don't know if you saw this on the other thread. They claim with their product that heating the oil isn't necessary due to the additives they use. There is also no extra tank required. Just filter, mix and use. Almost sounds too good to be true.

Yeah, I"ve seen that. I opened another thread asking if anyone knew anything more about it. Kinda sounds like snake oil to me...

The link is to a picture of a batch of biodiesel that was made this morning out of some really really dirty waste veggie oil.

Notice the black stuff in the bottom.

That black stuff has to go thru your injector pumps and engine.

Now then after looking at the pic, do you really want to run straight waste veggie oil in your vehicle?

I'll post some more pics when i get the black stuff separated and washed.

Interesting! While driving around, I noticed a sign offering biodiesel at a truck equipment dealer- no idea about the cost (Westminster, MD). I also noted a newspaper article that mentioned where it was available, and something about the state's taxing division and the problems one can run into with them?
