another welder recommendation thread

The MTS400 was brought up from another thread. I'm more interested in something under $1000 that will meet my requirements and hopefully my wants stated at the top of the thread.

If aluminum is a requirement, you can look at a 200 amp I MIG with a spool gun (added cost) which will stick weld or MIG weld, or a smaller TIG...but for best options, if you had just a little bit more to spend for best selection...not much, just a little more to spend...

Aluminum is a want, but not necessary right now.
