Last spring during floods the city of Point Claire used big municipal snow blowers to throw water back over the dykes.
From footage I saw it was actually effective.

Before I got a 3" trash pump. Used my 3-point rear blower to empty a fairly large pond down at the end of my driveway. Pond started out 18" or so deep. Really pumped the water until it got down to the last 3" or 4".

Here's a strange question ... anyone ever used a front mount snowblower on leaves? Seems like it might not be a bad way to move a big pile of them and reduce them some at the same time.

I saw that, my co workers sent us pictures of them doing this in Montreal, it worked pretty darn well.

That’s basically me snow-blowing at the end of the driveway after the Town snow plow and “sander” goes by and throws down a 1/2” of gravel after a 1/4” snow fall. Boys at the highway dept. need their overtime.

Believe me it quicker to rake/blower the leaves than snow blower...what pita mess to clean up.

An older friend of mine lived down in the flood plain of the Yellow River SW of here about 20 miles. He told me after large floods the silt would pile up on his farm lanes and places he didn't want it, and it would trap water on his fields. He'd take a large 3pt snow blower on and old large Oliver tractor and blow the mud off the lanes and make channels for the water to escape.

I use my 3 point hitch snowblower to move a lot of gravel...

Of course I use it as a counterweight so when I shovel into the bank with my front end loader, it is easier to fill the bucket!
