4340C ... spent the afternoon loading hay on a semi, when I parked it in the shed for the night I noticed the fuel tank looked funny ... upon inspection the tank was collasping ... sucking in, I removed the cap and the pressure was amazing, and the shape of the tank started coming back, I left the cap loose and will see whats going on in the A.M.

Anyone else have this going on??

Has to be an issue with the cap not venting right. IIRC, there was an issue with some having this problem caused by the disc in the cap being installed upside down and the cap couldn't vent. I don't have one here to look at now.

Again, I don't remember if it was on a specific series of machine, but I know it was an LS machine and from what I remember, it wasn't an issue with the tank sucking shut, but the tractor would quit running.

I found the problem, I caused it. A while back I put some grease on the threads of the filler ... the cap was turning on hard and I thought a little grease.

When I inspected the cap there is a slot threw the threads that lets the air in, it was plugged with the grease ... therefore not getting air.
