Another Broken BX23 Air Filter Bracket

Hey All!! Just wanted to state that my BX 23 broke a 3rd air filter Bracket this weekend. I understand that the early BX23's had a bad bracket. Mine came with the upgraded bracket and that's what keeps breaking. 292 hours, 2 years 8 months old. The dealer has replaced the other 2 broken ones.... I wonder what he'll say about this one. I'll let you know. I'm using a big wire tie wrap to hold things together for now.

That "big wire tie wrap" is a great idea... it may well outlast the original bracket. Perhaps Kubota should follow your lead and fix their problem for good... by upgrading their units with new hay wire brackets.

I am on my 3rd bracket also with my BX23 at 160 hours...........Big nylon tie wrap works the best of all.

I've only used mine for about 65 hours now. Where exactly does it break? Where are you attaching the zip tie? Would rubber bushings help this issue?

I gave up after two of them and used a big tie wrap it has lasted for almost 400 hours and still going.

MODIFY IT any way you want.The only thing that should connect the air filter holder and the motor is the hose.I modifyed mine with steel brackett to the chassie,and bolted the air filter holder to it.200 hours ago,no issues.Dont screw around with the dealer ,and the hassle .modify it,yourself and put this headache behind you once and foreall/

Mine broke at the spot welds (less than 50 hrs) When I replaced it with the new one, I added another spot weld at the edge of the mount right in the middle between and above the factory spot welds. 430 hrs on tractor now and hasn't broken yet. I also don't let the engine run at an idle. At idle it shakes real bad. I bring it up just off of idle and it smoothes out real good

The brackets on my BX23 broke after a couple hundred hours. I replaced them with new ones.

I did observe that the motor really bounces around a lot when the engine is idling at the lowest speed. Since then I have never let it idle at the lowest speed. Just bump the throttle up a bit and the engine smooths out and the air filter bracket along with everything else does not get beat to death.

Now at 800 hours without any more bracket breaks.
