I'd put on a new filter and fuel lines.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. Had the OP used an opaque filter he would have kept on mowing, and this thread would be nonexistent.

a wise statement...but when it overshadows routine & preventive maintenance, engines & transmissions are sometimes lost. but in this case, you're correct, regards

My mower has the gas tank above the engine. I have literally seen the gas boil on a hot hard load day, that was 8 years ago and I still haven't needed to do anything.

Current standard E10 gasoline "boils" at 135F, even lower at lower than atmospheric pressure like in a suction line while the engine is running. If it runs fine, ignore it and continue on, it's just a thing that happens, if it causes a no start then look deeper into it especially if the filter switches to only having vapor in it instead of liquid...

End of the story:
I extended the fuel line from the pump so that the now extended line is no longer "tight" to the engine. That plus the insulation has eliminated the noted "bubbles".

If you have some rock wool tape it to your gas line its fire proof
and very good insulation
I would also put a shut off valve in gas line so you turn off fuel
when you want to park your machine so your carb don't gum up
with the fuel sitting in it

Good idea. I have fuel line shut offs on every 4 cycle gas machine I have .... six of them excluding the eight push mowers.
