I stumbled across this article Rest In Peace. First I have heard of this happening for those that grew up in the Vietnam era this maybe of no shock to you but, our soldier's that have paid the price deserve a quite and respectable burial not one that need's "protection" and lawyer's.

Those people are nothing but poor lost souls that have no real direction in life. The worst part about them is they have NO respect at all for anyone but themselves and their pathic cause. There are better ways to protest a war.

That happened in Anna a few years ago with Members of the Westboro Baptist Church out of Topeka, KS. They had a ermit to protest for a 30 minute period, State Troopers, County Sherrifs Deputies, City Police were everywhere including extra ambulances fire dept. etc

And let me tell ya when the IL State Police announced over the PA system that the demonstration permit and police protection was expiring in 30 minutes they scattered and left town in a HURRY!

I'm all for everyone having their say. We've fought a few wars for just that reason. Even if the cause is not with my blessing, everyone has the right to their opinion.

There..... I said it. Now, There's a time and a place for everything. The funeral of a soldier who died so others could "have their say" is NOT the time, nor the place for anything BUT respect and dignity. Something these people have neither of.

P.T. Barnum said there's no such thing as bad publicity. He didn't know these people and their message. I have mixed emotions on the reason why they're protesting. I'm 100% OPPOSED to their tactics.

This group has been at it for awhile. There have been volunteer groups organized to shield mourners from the despicable antics of this group.

I agree. My parents use to tell me "Just because you have the right to do something doesn't mean you have to do it.?"

I don't think those nuts are protesting the war, they're protesting the USA supporting "gays". This guy is waaaaay out there, the Patriot guard is the group that counter protests when these yahoo's show up.

That's their "rationale", but I'm thinking they have a hidden agenda. So many times any more, it boils down to loonies wanting to make a name for themselves. They get a few more loonies to jump on their bandwagon and do their dirty work. Then they have their moment in the camera's eye. At that stage, they can basically extort money/power in return for their "endorsment" or silence.

Over the years, we've had a few great men stand up for a cause. Then we've had a few great con-men stand up for a buck. Hard to distinguish between the 2 some days.
