Ammunition

Last year I brought my Traditions 50cal. out of a ten year retirement for deer season, think the last time deer use was (03). Now that I'm getting back in it, what is there on the market now for speed loaders, that I only need ramrod to reload. I'd like to have something that will load black powder, sabot and or rd. ball and will hold a cap. Not a fan of pellets/pyrotex.

Don't watch if you have a problem with shooting feral hogs.

The Gun That Aims Itself (Documentary) - YouTube

Ok, watch the vid, some people have all the fun. Couple observations I made, here's a guy that produced a firearm that aim's it self, he's been to war got shot come's back and invents this, ??? Where's the PTSD, why isnt he gone nuts like all I here about on the news. 2nd, someone ask about how society should/would react to this kind of firearm, my answer 2nd. amendment. 3rd Now isn't it kinda ironic, what was it, around the Vergina area, over a hundred years ago a war got started between two family's over a hog that got killed which back then was their lively hood, now 2000 miles away hogs are over running the farm land, go figure.

For someone who wants to see experienced pig hunting, watch the movie, Beer For My Horses.

Quick question on handgun magazines-- Do any of you lube the magazine?

Rest of text deleted. See new thread: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...ndgun-magazines-lube-no-lube.html#post4605005

All I have ever done to blue steel mags is a light coat of oil, and then rub that off with a clean cloth to prevent dirt pickup. The idea of the oil is a rust preventative. I reapply, especially in the summer when hot sweaty hands touch the mag. Stainless mags, I usually don't mess with on the outside. All mag get disassembled once in a while to swab out the insides and remove of foreign material. Especially after a match or even during a match if dropped into mud or dirt. I carried a special brush made for and sized for this purpose in my range bag. Periodically I would coat the springs lightly with oil, and again wipe it off carefully to prevent rust forming on the springs.

Same here -I now run them through an ultrasonic cleaner then once dry, spray them down with Rem Oil or a similar spray oil, let sit a while and wipe down. I used to hand wash them but am doing the ultrasonic cleaning thing since we got one and it is quicker and does a GREAT job.

I know lifetime Democrats, Union Members and Civil Servants that voted Republican for the first time ever and it was a single issue... the second amendment...

Some hunt, some target shoot and others are simply worried about being able to protect themselves.

It is fact the police in my city of 400k do not respond to most calls for assistance... it again was huge complaint of shop owners and individuals that suffered property destruction this week's Trump riots.

As a rule... Police only respond to Domestic Violence, when Children are involved and/or anything involving a firearm.

If you come come to a kicked in front door and a ransacked house, your car is stolen, etc... you are instructed to go online and file a police report... NO ONE is coming out to take a report.

That's why I voted for Dubya against Gore. I knew a bunch of women who were upset because they saw it as a vote against women's rights. I told them, "Sorry, I have to vote for my rights first."

Hillary lost the election for the same reason that Gore lost. Every time she opened her mouth about gun control she lost half a million votes, and she talked about it a lot.

Yep just about every tax or restriction passed with flying colors on my ballot and it is illegal to "Import" more than 50 rounds across State lines.

One would think with such tremendous success the voters would be in hog heaven... not a chance... 3 nights of riots because the only thing that didn't go according to plan is the office of the President.

A lot of older handguns have magazines that are not permitted under the new law... a friend that has CC in California contacted Smith and Wesson and was told they no longer sell small capacity magazines for the firearms he owns...

So here is a man that has to pass rigorous qualifying, a huge firearms endorsement for liability and the weapons he qualifies with exceed 10 rounds.

On a side note the media was interviewing protesters concerned Trump would break up her family and they would have to go back to Mexico... the irony of the Protesters is a Mom and Pop Mexican Restaurant had all the windows smashed during the riot...

I don't believe all the gun shops have closed when they could no longer renew their business licenses.

Yeah, and it's illegal to carry California booze into Oregon, but I never cross the border without picking up about 5 gallons. Hard liquor is about 20% cheaper in California. The big stores on the border specialize in mass produced ethanol, but for mixers it is just fine. Some cheap whisky like Old Crow is actually pretty good booze. If you are looking for quality imported whiskey like Knappogue Castle, you are out of luck, so I buy that locally.

I'm sure there will be a thriving ammunition black market in California. I don't see any reason why Oregon businesses shouldn't pocket some of the profit. They don't even ask for ID here, unless you look like you are under 18. Even that is just for handgun ammo. A teenager can buy all the rifle or shotgun ammo he wants. Pay cash and the transaction would be untraceable. I recommend Bi-Mart, an employee owned membership discount store. There are stores in Brookings, Klamath Falls, Ashland and Medford. I'm sure they will start ordering more ammo to accommodate the California traffic.

I'm thinking there may be new gun shops on the Cal-Neva line at Tahoe.
