Bought 200 CCI standard, there was 600 limit, from big local guns store. I haven't seen any at Fleet Farm in a long time. Not sure if the store has more traffic, that it goes quickly by people shopping.

Christmas time, I bought some same gun store and another sport good store. $9-10 for 100. I haven't looked much sense then. I am not buying up everything like a pig, but will buy some when I see it.

What there is evidence of is people panicked when the president got elected and started hording rounds (and guns) to the point that the shelves were bare. The people caused the shortage, not the president..

The president has said he wants to ban AR and AK type guns. So it is direct result that those guns were bought up. Diane Fienstein sais she wanted to ban quite a few types of guns, inlcuding shotguns with pistol grips, popular with turkey hunters.

The government has had direct impact on sales of high capacity rifles and hand guns.

Some local governments are trying back door gun bans by increasing the cost to buy ammo and guns.

I am not a hoarder, but I pick up reloading supplies here and there. I don't by the limit.

I haven't bought powder lately, but earlier this year they were having some sales, and most stuff was there.

The wife and I used to shoot between 500 and 1000 about every week. It goes really quick.

That's one reason why I don't have a simi-auto firearm, fun to shoot, but a 100rds is nothing. When my younger son brings his ak something something over, puts a clip in, shooting at a rolling tire off a bank, it can really spit the shells out, expensive and fun at the same time. If I could afford a semi-auto, I'd get a 20ga for shooting skeet, I think moving targets are more fun to shoot at then a steel plate.

And what is the fascination with 22s, shoot a tin can, it knocks over, glass bottle it breaks, block of wood makes small hole, steel plate makes a ping. Do the same with a 45 colt, 357, 38, 12-20ga, blows everything to smithereens and timbuktoo, that's what I'm talking about more bang for the buck.....

One of the good things about shooting .22 rimfire is that you can practice shooting accurately and rapidly for lower cost. This was our prime motivation for shooting .22 rimfire instead of always shooting our centerfire competition guns. At the time I could reload .45acp for around 10 cents per round and 9mm for maybe 8 cents or so. But back then .22 rimfire was as low as 2 cents per round. So a definite savings. Sure the .22 rimfire did not provide the recoil recovery practice we needed, but still allowed us to work on rapid target transition and acquisition.

Besides, working on a set of steel swinger targets as fast as you can go, even with a .22 pistol is great fun:)

I've always liked the rimfire challenge courses, lots of fun and only uses 5 rounds per course.
