Could be ingorance or an unscrupulous dealer. You have to wonder if there are some out there who change all the labels and sell them on purpose as American tractors, or made for the US tractors. When I was looking for a tractor a dealer tried to tell me cub cadets were made in the US. I said no, they aren't and then he said ok, they aren't. Still, I bet it happens.

Do I understand you to be saying that their purpose in misrepresenting the tractor is to circumvent ebay's trademark infringement policy? So does that mean it's ok if they only misrepresent their tractors to people/businesses whose policies they disagree with?

If I've misinterpreted your comment I sincerely apologize. If I haven't it certainly sounds like situational ethics to me.

Are you saying it's ok for this guy to advertise his tractor as being a USA tractor so it doesn't get taken off e-bay ? I don't think so.What if thre person buying the tractor doesn't know & isn't told the truth ? It's a lie & I would'n buy from him.

Ebay does this at yanmars request. Are all websites and any person in general
violating yanmars trademark by using the yanmar name to sell there gray market tractors? According to yanmar they are. So what are your ethics behind it.
Yes i think it is wrong to say a gray is a us tractor. But if What if the seller emails all bidders letting them know the truth and giving them the chance to have there bid canceled. this is not a whole lot different then using yanmars trademarked name on a private web site to sell grays.
That being said this is not a political or ethical forum. This Question is A "gray" area Question on this forum. I don't blame the moderators if they remove my response or others.

I really don't think the reason for this is to leave it on the auction. My guess is the seller probably thinks he'll get more bids if people think it's American. I saw at the same time from a private seller a 1998 Hinomoto E18 with power steering. This was probably a 79 or 80 tractor and power steering wasn't available. I've had several of these and on the grille is an emblem that says 18PS. That's the hp not power steering.

Why not a straight and civil response when asked a simple and direct question?
