Recently I've seen a couple people selling new brush hogs that are red in color and seem to be pretty sturdy. They say they are American International. I can't locate anything online about these BHs. Do any of you know anything about them? The price seems right but not sure what the deal is with them. Thanks very much!

Most likely they are IMC (International Machine Co.). They are sturdy and red. I have the 7 ft and a 5 ft from IMC. Very satisfied with the units. BobG in VA

how much would one of these be worth in a 4 ft. I think I found a good deal but haven't heard of this brand. Also how hard is it to find parts for this brand??

Bullzibart, I bought a new IH400, (4' Int. Brand) late last winter from a local dealer. I believe there was a parts breakdown in my little manual. The fit and finish is not as good as say a Woods but the price was right for occasional use. The company is in Bethel, Ohio and they still make them so I would "assume" parts shouldn't be an issue. A new one here in So. ME runs about $795 in season.

I have a 16' trailer that is an International brand and it was made in Ohio....I bet we are talking about the same company....

Some of the local dealers sell International brand of hogs for around $600 for a 6 footer.

I just picked up the 4 footer last night. It needs a little welding to help the looks a bit but other wise its in great shape. It will need a coat of paint but for 325 I dont' think it was a bad deal.

Bullzibart, I think you'll like the IH. Let me know if you need info on it and I will try and scan part or all of the manual and .pdf it to you. That is a good price. All the used ones I found, Woods, mainly for that price, were 15-20 years old, pretty well beat to death and had so much rust on them that I just walked away.

MajMac thanks alot for letting me know that was a fair price. It has been stored out side so it is rusty but appears to be only surface rust. Nothing alittle paint can't take care of. At some point I'll need some info on it so I can get parts. I'm pretty sure I'll need blades right off. Do you have a part number for them??
Thanks

MajMac, It is the same brand as in your photos, but I got the 5'. Seems to be ok. I hooked it up just fine and initial test runs through the pasture worked fine. But, when looking at it in the barn yesterday, I notice the two connector bars on the 3-point hitch are bent subtantially. Not sure how I did that. Didn't hit anythig hard. Hmmmm....

Also, I'm having a brain lapse and can't seem to remove the plastic PTO cover to get at the bolt securing it to the Gear Box.
It's the same PTO shaft that's in your picture. Any help would help!
Thanks a ton....

VTB, I haven't taken the plastic sleeve off yet so I'm not sure. I've wondered though because I think the u-joint has a grease fitting and I've not sure either how to remove the plastic. I copied the Op. manual to a .pdf at work today but this site kept telling me the thing was to big a file. It is only 408K or so, not big in my mind but I was unable to attach it.

Can anyone tell me how to attach a file to a post. When I try, even a small file, 408K .pdf, it tells me it is to big. I sent an email to "Contact US" but no reply. Thanks in advance.

MajMac do you have a website for them? I can't seem to find anything about them online.

I looked at your brush hog in the photos and mine is alot different. You have the two supports that run from the 3pt. hitch back to the rear. Mine has what looks like a piece on leaf spring with a small amount of chain on the end.

I hope you can figure out how to attach that file, and I hope it will help me some.
