About that return policy! Dang! I'm impressed - but not sure in what manner!
I ordered one of those queen size foam mattresses in a box. Once you open the packaging, it is never going back in and I tried. The mattress had grease stains on it so I clicked on the return button. I figured they'd tell me to donate it and send them the receipt, but no, they had UPS come pick it up. Must have cost a fortune to return a fully inflated mattress and I got a full refund.

Just be aware. You can't return grocery items. I order my Blue Mountain coffee from there and the vendor screwed the last order up. I'm still trying toi get it resolved.

I use amazon as a last resort. I got burned on a Warehouse deal several years ago so turned the tables on them. Signed up for a CC to get something like $100 off. Never used that CC and canceled a couple months later. When they offer prime for free 30 day trial I often take them up on it just to watch movies. I cancel it about 29 days into it. I go straight to vendors or use ebay now.

If Prime was 200 bucks a year I would still pay the 200 bucks. Shipping costs from other vendors would be way more than that. And shipping isn't any faster from other vendors. I started using Prime years ago because shipping costs were getting outrageous. I save so much time not driving somewhere to buy something. I usually don't mind waiting a few days for stuff and 3 days is about average for the stuff I order. That includes industrial as well as home stuff.

Bozo's just raised the Amazon Prime price to $140/yr. Another $20 increase.

I'm trying to understand the benefit of the prime membership for me. If I order over $35 in products I get free shipping. Do I still get free returns without the Prime membership? 2 day shipping is a joke where I live.

I try to avoid doing business with them whenever possible. I grew up in a family business, and was sole proprietor myself for years. Nothing against his business plan, I just prefer to put money in other people's pockets whenever possible.

I'm not a Bezos hater, but I can't see myself ever getting my money's worth out of Prime, even at the old price. 19 times out of 20 I'm not going to order something online that I need now, I can usually put together a $25 order if there's something I do need, and still get "free" shipping, even it's lower priority on their end. As with you, 2 day shipping isn't gonna happen here anyway.

There's enough free streaming video on the Roku box (albeit with commercials) that I'd never watch enough Prime video to make up the difference...not a real big tv watcher anyway, and movies even less. That having been said, the new Jack Reacher series sounds interesting. Anyone seen it? Any good?

Time to lighten up on Amazon…..after all Bezos and his new wife have a much needed new ocean going yacht to pay for!

Bezos is unbelievably rich, but I cannot fault how he got there. Amazon provides an amazing selection of products, much of which I can’t find elsewhere. And their service is unmatched.
