alternitive hyd oil

Is there any other hyd oil, other then John Deeres brand that I csn use in my 4200 with the
hydrostatic transmission.

I'm sure you can find an alternitive, but I don't think you'll save much, if you use the JD stuff you know for sure it's good for your tractor.

Tom, welcome to TBN. Sure there's alternative hyd oil that meets the OEM specifications per John Deere.

Look for the grease-lube/oil/hydraulic fluid requirements in your owner's manual and match those specifications with whatever product you're considering.

If it meets those specs - you're good to go!

There's a number of post's on the Oil, Fuel and Lubricants forum here on TBN regarding the unending "pros and cons" of the various brands.

Hi and welcome,
I've tried several oils including Amsoil synthetic. I found the best oils were the Deere oils. I don't know who makes them for Deere but they perform very well.
