Replaced the battery on 5500 mahindra. Alternator not working now.

Are you sure it was working right before? That's probably why you had to replace the battery...

Out put voltage at B+ terminal of alternate when proper charging should be 14 volts (+/- 0.2 volts).... IF not alternator has a problem... If there is a regulator associated with alternator it could possibly be problem...

Also check if system has a ALT lamp. some systems require a shot of 12 volts through ALT lamp to initialize charging, if lamp is burnt out it may effect how alternator operates....

I assume you are referring to the light on the dash that goes out when the tractor is cranked. That light is constantly red now. Please advise if this is not what you are referring to.

Take it to Napa to get it tested?

With key on and alternator not spinning up lamp should be on, if alternator spins up with engine RPM and light does not go out it indicates alternator is not producing....

Most systems utilize a 120A +/- strip fuse or fusible link that may have blown if you shorted the cables or hooked them up backwards while swapping batteries. Check that, if there is one.

If the alternator is not working you can just replace
the diodes/rectifier cheaper than a new alternator
