Alternator upgrade question

OK guys, I have the kit and am ready to install, how do I get the cover off the steering column and dash??? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
B2910 tractor with Curtis hard cab.
Please don't tell me its the one screw in the center top of dash cover! That would mean removing the cab, not looking forward to that. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
Any help would be appreciated.

Why are you taking the cover off the steering column? To remove the voltage regulator? The dealer mechanic who did mine left the voltage regulator in place because he said it was too difficult to remove. He just disconnected it.

Not removing the regulator.
The new harness has two plugs for behind the dash, one for the gauge and one for the ignition key(to excite the sys?). I think. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
Just going by the instructions, remove old harness, install new one.
