Alternator install on B-7100

Has anyone done this to eliminate the dynamo? And if you have, do you have pictures of what you did? Thanks

When I built my "Kenbota", I replaced the dynamo with an alternator. IIRC, it was out of a 1987 Subaru Justy. I used that one because it wasn't too much larger than the dynamo and it had a built-in regulator. That and I happen to have one sitting on the shelf.

The first picture is of the install and relative size of the alternator. The second picture is how I connected it. The connections are the same as a GM SI-10 alternator.

No, but the alternator doesn't care what it's used on.

The B7100 WSM has detailed instructions on installing a large capacity alternator on a B7100.

For you the important info is how to locate and drive the alternator.

The electrical is much easier now with modern alternators.
