In my old Navy aviation days, we would do FCF (functional check flights). Tractors sometimes need FCR (functional check rides). Need to know that everything still works!

Yes im guilty , im new to the tractor scene but ive already took the trash up on my loader,, drove around on the atv trails just looking around. I even was nice enough to go over to my inlaws which is on the same property and get there trash. Moved dirt even though didnt have too. Didnt think about about the 50 lbs of dog food. You guys are giving me some ideas hahhaa

Who hasn't used their tractor to get the mail? I also agree with the gentleman who said that this makes more sense when you have more days behind than ahead. Great post, now there are many more excuses for being out and about.

For me I usually have to go check the field. Is ti to WET? or is ti to DRY. Of course the bottom field is always different than the rest, so I just have to go down there and check the difference..... This way I will know which way is the perfect way to ride with out getting the tractor dirty.....:D Boss usually doesn't need to check the fields??? She is not quite sure why i also have to go threw the woods to get to the field when there is no field on the other side of the woods. She just doesn't understand this tractor thing...:D

Very guilty. Walking is overrated.

T'other day I needed the drill, bits and screws. Brought them back from the barn in the tractor bucket as I didn't have enough hands to carry everything. When I take out the recycling (200yds of hilly driveway) I always take the chainsaw on the tractot, just in case the beaver have blocked the driveway (they did it once a few years back).
Johnie has almost 4000hrs on him, my ATV has 500. Both about the same age, but the bucket is easier to carry a dead deer in.....

Problem is when ever I do that I found things that needed tractor work so my fun ride always turns into 4 hours of work when it wasn't planned.

Guilty--------I've taken the Grandkids on 20-3- min rides. Today loaded a few Christmas decorations in bucket and brought them from basement to front porch.
When I put these items away last year I carried them down . Much easier using the tractor. But like someone else said 5-10 min job became about 20-30 min.

Oh the joy !!!!!!

Have fun and be safe !!!

Guilty to, I have driven mine to the Dollar General store and to the bank. Sometimes just to go visiting family and friends.

Top Ten List why you just gotta use that tractor:
10) Why pick up a 50 pound bag of dog food when you've got a tractor?
9) I'm always making sure the hydraulic rams get their microthin coating of oil.
8) The grease needs to be turned over on those pins on the bucket.
7) Don't I need to circulate the oil? I thought it said to do that in the manual.
6) Two words: Trash Day!
5) You got to make sure those attachments still fit.
4) Just checking the DMLH (daily maximum lift height)
3) I didn't want my loaded tires to flat spot.
2) That mailbox is just too darn far!

And the number one reason:

1) If I don't bring it, I'm just going to end up having to walk back to get it.

A Man !
