what is the combined wattage of the new lights.

watts divided by 12 = amps.

you may simply be overloading the circuit.

what else is on the 7.5 amp circuit.

7.5 amps x 12 volts = 90 amps available

He mentioned they were LED so I am thinking they are not the Normal 55 watt incandescent. We will let him speak as to the wattage, but I am thinking since he blew the 60 amp main fuse first, and mentioned wire heating. (before the main blew) that those light are shorted. That would be my guess. Now that he is behind the 7.5 amp combination fuse of course thankfully that is what blew. All guesses of course at this time.. Chris if you have the VOM . get it out and put it on ohms, and short the leads, and take a reading. It may show 0 ohms. or something like .1 ohms. at any rate note the reading, and consider that it is a dead short. Now ohm the leads to the lamps one at a time, totally disconnected from the tractor.. Both directions..(reverse the leads.) and tell us what you get. Also ohm both leads to the case of the lamp. perhaps inside one of the lamps the positive voltage input is touching the case, making it hot, and since it is likely grounded to the chassis of the tractor....poof..... let us know.

It is going to be OK, we can fix this......now, do you own an Ohm meter. (volt ohm milliamp multimeter).. if not go buy one.. and call back.

You have such a calming tone. I feel better already. :).
Yes. I have a digital meter with ohms

They are 18watts each. So 3 amps@ 12
The combination switch circuit is basically the light switch.

OK.. I am glad you are feeling a little better.... see above comments, on how to test, and let us know..

Lamp 1.

Starts @ 6 ohms and counts down
Reverse: starts @ 280 ohms and counts down.

Lamp 2.

Starts @ 10 ohms and counts down.
Reverse : starts @ 330 ohms and counts down.

What is each lead to the case of the lamp?

Another thing to try, take each lamp out to the battery, Wear safety glasses, wear gloves. put the negative wire on the negative and touch the + to the +.. does the lamp light?, does the wire smoke? the lamp should draw less than 2 amps. So no way should the wire get hot.. If it lights you can measure its current draw if you have a 10 amp scale on your VOM.. put it in series with the positive lead and measure current. You normally have to move the + lead on your VOM to a special 10 amp connection point Hopefully it wont be anywhere near 10 amps. otherwise it will blow a fuse in the meter (hopefully) and/or melt the leads of the meter.. do this just as a last check after you are sure the lamps directly hooked up to the battery does not heat up the wires to the lamps. Wish I was there to help you.

what else is on that 7.5 amp circuit?

adding 3 amps to a small circuit may be the only issue you have now that the dead short is taken care of.

each lamp has a White lead (hot) Black lead (ground).

Lamp 1, connected directly to battery. didn't go on. then i tried it again, it went on. Then a third time id didnt . lol
Lamp 2, connected directly to battery. didn't go on in 3 tries.
Battery is @ 12.2V

Looks like I am taking these back. :-(

Can't thank you guys enough for you time.
