Already disappointed in new Husvarna 435

/ Already disappointed in new Husvarna 435 #31
I've always gone with the XP pro models, but I put a lot of hours on saws. What most folks don't know is Husky has a 'Landowner' series, 545, 555 & 365. These are pro saws with slightly less power than their XP counter parts & less money. I don't like the plastic case home owner saws at all, yes they are cheaper, but heavier, harder to work on and less power. I will say Husqv does a decent job on the lower series, better than Stihl & the others, IMO. But I'd still rather have a better saw...

I'm guessing lots and lots of folks have the 435 and dearly love it. Why wouldn't they.

For some reason, I got enthralled with the 440e when shopping a year or so back, so I ordered one. All I can say is that it has been the best saw I've ever had, I think. Wonderful saw and I still love it after cutting 20 or 30 cords with it. ChainSawDirect and it was on my porch in three days.

I thought I'd ignore my little 240 but it still gets used regularly for light work, but I always prefer to get back to the 440e.

I'm glad it all worked out well for you.

Some people may argue, but the huskies sold in the big box stores are not the quality you get when you buy from a husky dealer. I have seen people buy the box store ones and they are generally garbage. My brother gave me a brand new 435 when I was a teenager (his driver dropped a tree on it first time he used it, smashed the top cover handle and fuel tank off of it as well as bent the bar) the repairs were more than a new saw so I scavenged parts off a couple old saws and I have used an abused that poor saw to no end for quite a few years. It rides in the sleeper on some of the roughest roads you have ever seen in your life and it has never let me down yet. That being said I have never cut anything harder than birch but I just bought a 550xp and the difference in power and speed for bucking firewood is not even comparable. If you only do a little cleanup of fallen trees and such I would get another small saw but don't cheap out and get it from a dealer. If you are cutting large amounts of wood then get a saw with more power.
