This was a new drive put in and was solid. Driver was backing in to dump the load at the end of the drive and there was a slight curve in the drive by the pond. He got too close to the edge and had to pull forward to straighten but when he went to back up again the edge of the drive gave out where he just drove over. The rig weighed 17 ton and there was 36 ton of lime in the box.

I called in a ton of favors to help the driver out. Borrowed my one friends Deere 4450, another friends Deere 4050 and the town was working at the road with their wheeled excavator (which is operated by the guy who I bought this land from) and we called the town supervisor to get permission for them to help unload the truck to keep it from tipping so we can pull it out. All in all it was a 2 hour delay but the truck was back out with no damage.

I just hope the driver kept his job. He was figuring he was fired when he called the boss. His boss showed up while we were getting ready to pull it out and he had us hook both tractors to the truck to pull it out. Once the truck was up just one tractor pulled the truck and trailer free the rest of he way. That driveway was too narrow to be pulling side by side like we did but it worked out.

I am fortunate to have friends and neighbors that can help if needed. The Deere 4050 was who we called two years ago to pull another lime truck free. That driver was an idiot and backed his truck through a ditch and lost traction on his drive wheels. He didn't listen as we told him to dump in the same place the other driver dumped just seconds before but he knew more then us. :-/

I think its great that you were able to get him out unharmed. I did alot of 'off highway' deliveries when I was younger, delivering pre-cast concrete products. I had a few days that turned out very interesting myself. At a couple, or three hundred an hour for a heavy wrecker, I'm afraid they would have been looking at a thousand dollar tow bill had they needed to call one out :confused2:.
