where was all this rain last year when I dug my pond:mur:

Pond was dug last week in june IIRC, and had to wait out about a two month drought with only light rain in their.

With the runoff I have, any single one of these rains would have been enough to fill the pond. I only hope my grass carp were smart enough not to get washed out the overflow:laughing:

Heres some pics...

These are the pond overflow. 1 12" culvert and 2 8"

Heres one of the 12" inlets. I have 2 12" and 2 4"'s feeding the pond, plus natural runoff. One of the 12's dont flow much though...

And here is a shot back in the woods where the pond dumps to and joins another overflow from a neighbors pond. This is of my bridge made of electric poles. At the edge the water is 32" deep and flowing pretty fast.

Hard to believe it dries up from summer-winter

I hear ya. We were the same up North. Gettin ready to go on vacation for ten days tomorrow, figure I'll cut my grass this evening and it'll be fine for next ten days. No rain in sight for next seven days with temps in low 90s.... Hard to believe it can change that fast. I dug some post holes last week and it's bone dry after the first foot.

Believe me, I wish I could.

I think I heard them say on the news today that we have had 18 straight days of rainfall:mur:
All kinds of roads flooded around me. Just ridiculous.

And with having all this time off, I was hoping to get some things done outside, wood cut, bushhog jobs, etc. Kinda hard to get that done.

A little is fine, but drowning all my grass seed isnt good either. Let alone mowing the grass that does grow...

i'm voting with the "stop the rain" crowd. starting in Feb, and through now, we've had abnormally high precip (in snow and now monsoon rains). need to seed grass to keep erosion down across my lot, but it washes out completely when the next TStorm runs through. last night we had 80+ winds and 1.5" rain in just a few hours. since my lot is mostly dirt, it makes for messy dogs and parking cars 200' from the door (clay-base). I'm working on a new drain-tile culvert to help keep the waters away from my house, and it was put to the test that same evening with another drenching storm :(

I really wish that We were able to send ALL of You, in need of rainfall, some of the almost daily rainfall that we have been receiving for months. The ground is so soaked that fallen trees in the area have resulted in Power losses for up to 3 days in our County along. We lost Power twice, once for 12 hours and another time for 4 hours. I have been attempting to fill a Ditch for 6 weeks with dirt that a Friend of mine brings me. Either my Buddy's dirt pile is too wet to load, or it is too wet for me to spread the dirt with my FEL. I sincerely hope that Everyone receives the needed rainfall in their areas. Best wishes to Everyone.

I saw a mosquito making love with a wild turkey today. You can't walk outside here with all the rain we got. I raked hay yesterday with the open station John Deere, that was a mistake, they covered me. We got another 1.5 inches right when I finished up.

I saw a striped mosquito making love with a wild turkey today. They are huge with all this rain we got. I raked hay yesterday with the open station John Deere and they covered me, that was a mistake. It poured 1.5 inches right when I was getting bales out the field.

My ground is so wet that some big winds today blew over a lot of my sweet corn. Talk about irony-- we finally get the rain to help the garden and then we get so much as to cause a whole new set of problems. And were were relatively lucky-- we probably only got half of what LD1 got.

You do know that when the rain finally stops--- for those of us on clay ground--that the temps will soar to 95 degrees and the ground will bake as hard as bricks.

We've got so much rain, that people can't cut and cure hay. I wish we could send it west and get it back every other ten days.

We have had rain everyday for he last 17+ days. If I cold share some of the rain I would but I'm not going to complain after not having any rain in July last year. I know the farmers around here would love having a few days in a row to get som hay in.

I'm a little south and east of murph and our normal average rainfall for the entire month of July is 4.1 inches ... as of right now we have a total of 4.42 inches in just the first 10 days ...

We've had so much rain here that I haven't been able to get into my garden now for two weeks, weeds are trying their best to take it. If it ever does dry up, I'll have one heck of a job ahead of me.

Seems like I irrigated the garden just about every week last year, none at all this year so far.

I think we are at 21-22 straight days of rain. Hurting somethings in the garden and helping others.

A lot of hay fields in the area are still waiting on the first cut.
