That thing looks nice, the beefy looking tailwheel setup sets it apart!

I personally think the implement is worth investing in repairing the roller assuming it can be done at a reasonable price.

Adding to what I mentioned above, replacing the worn out rear roller
will also increases the mowers structural strength bringing it back to
new condition

Structural integrity is a good point.

Could weld some SS half pipe tubing sections over the bad parts. Stuff on hand to cob together. Still need get an estimate from driveline shop.

I had to have one made at a machine shop for a New Holland 918H a couple of years ago, at that time it was just over $400 to fab it up that included making up new end shafts for the bearings.

Mowed about 4-5 acre meadow down by the pond covered in kudzu 30-80” high. Impressed the ease the flail mower could cut it down. Better cut, less hp, faster than using a similar size rotary cutter. No windrows. Little Y blades holding up well.

Been cutting other fallow pastures with the flail in hopes to reestablish more grass than weeds. The dog and I have enjoyed the lawn like paths thru the fields. Flail mower handling undulating ground with sharp turns. Two down sides is bigger limbs dropped around the perimeter have to avoid. Rotary mower or brown tree cutter could have chopped them up. Less reach and toughness backing toward pond, creek or woods. Still need to use a rotary to maintain the rougher areas.
