That depends how good. You can get better prices on the 3450 RPM ones. I have one like this.

Served fine for 10yrs and still will if I reconnect that compressor. I would run it an hr or more continuous sand blasting with my Kellogg American compressor. Current at 160PSI cuttoff pressure was 25A ... an overload.

The motor vs engine topic is interesting. I did a quick google search on the subject and found engine has been around for along time, and was used to describe many different things. Motor also has an interesting origin

Think about marine for a second, there are outboard MOTORS, not engines, and there are inboard MOTORS, not engines. Even though they are internal combustion engines, they are called motors.

I have no problem with someone referring to a vehicles power plant as a motor. It doesn't really work the other way though, "Electric Engine" doesn't sound right.

Like was mentioned about the NASA rocket propulsion units, they interchange the words engine/motor, so if it's good enough for those egg heads it's OK with me.

I use engine oil in my engines, altho it is mislabled such that the distinction is lost. It takes an engine to drive a motor. It takes a self sustaining prime mover at the head of the line to cause motoring -- hence motor car, cycle, boat, etc -as subsidiary systems undergoing motoring. In many cases a motor will be used to start the engine.
