Air cleaner assembly Yanmar 155D

We recently inherited this tractor. It is missing the entire air cleaner assembly. Can anyone help us to locate one?

Sorry... If you go back to that site, scroll to the top of the page and look top right you can post a free "want to buy ad." There are many smaller salvage dealers/private individuals who are linked to TractorHouse that have salvage equipment for sale that don't post on their site.

Select that link, register so they know it's not a spammer, fill out the form giving model number and part needed. Part number is a big help if you have it. Then add contact info. I have gotten more than several parts for some of my older equipment using that and have never been disappointed in what I received. IIRC, they have a satisfaction guarantee on all parts. I've gotten return calls from within 45 minutes, to as far out as 36 hours. I've also learned to wait at least 24 hours before buying. Prices can vary, along with cost of shipping due to distance. In today's world, they can probably easily text a picture to you, so you're not buying a pig in a poke.

We recently found an air intake assembly from eBay. I’m not sure if it’s the exact original style, but it’ll work. Except now the part of the intake to where the air cleaner attaches is not usable. We inherited this old tractor, and whom ever was the PO did some ugly things to it. We will take your suggestion and post our ”want to buy“ air intake part there.

Yes! That’s the exact one we bought! Now the problem is with the intake manifold part where the assembly attaches (posts 7 and 10). But thank you for the reference.

I thought all the flat, round filters like that mounted inside the side panel, no?

So your manifold, extending outside, likely had this later Donaldson-type air cleaner.

I really don’t know what was on it originally. There’s a machined surface below the intake that looks like it would fit the taller air cleaner assembly in your photo. OTH, the drawing in the service manual which we purchased from Hoye shows the other “Datsun” style assembly like we bought on eBay (shown in picture post 12).

The Donaldson style was an upgrade after a couple of years production. Maybe Yanmar realized that a design sufficient for a rice paddy wasn't sufficient for American dry operation in a lot of dust.

YM240 had the Datsun type then switched to the better one in its final year, 1981.
