AICO hyd valve

I have this valve on my Satoh S370D. It occasionally spurts oil out of the front, see attached.
Does anyone know what causes this?

It seems to be a pressure relief valve.

Pressure will be released either because of over pressure in the circuit, or malfunction/adjustment.
As an example a broken spring can wreck the pre-set adjustment.
