Which is the better tire in snow, Ag or turf? Turf tires seem to have the same characteristics as an automobile snow tire but Ag have that all terrain thing going for them. Anyone done any comparisons? Thanks.

Ag is better in dirt and rough, includung snow. Turf is just that, I have moist low lying lawns close to streams and ponds: I use weighted turf. The treads load up qiuck with mud which doens't come out till it dries or i hit high gear.

OH BOY!!
You are gonna get sooooo many varying opinions. LOL
The problem it it's not cut and dry.
I have plowed snow with an LB1914 and TURF tires that stopped an Ag tired unit dead.
BUT it depends on depth, how wet etc.
Turfs as a rule are wider than ags, sometimes equal to Industrials, sometimes even wider than Industrials, just depends on model and brand.
Most guys plowing snow with trucks don't use "mud tires" which is exactly what an ag tire is a "mud tire", turfs are more the "all terrain" style, if using the same terms you would with a truck tire.
Now if the snow is the kind that you need to "break thru" then ag may be better.
It' a flotation thing, ags dig thru and have little surface area BUT at the same time if the snow is deep enough that the "paddle action" of the ags can help you then they may be better.
The Turfs will float on top more instead of breaking thru.
Call a dealer in the Snow belt, he'll tell you what works.
Rick Wallace would know.
