Advice on L5740 Kubota

Hey there, new to the site and buying a tractor very soon. I'm going to look at a Kubota 5740 tomorrow, enclosed cab, FEL, l2195a front mount 72" blower and around 500 hours on it. What are the major concerns with this amount of hours, and what seems like a fair price? Seller says its in great shape with the exception of some paint fade from the sun. Thank you in advance, I'm excited to get something and then I'm sure I'll be addicted to this site, hahaha

Paint fade on Kubota's is normal and 500 hours is nothing. The engine will go 9000 hours with normal care.

Id look underneath for loose bolts esp the loader mounting bolts. And drive the tractor, use the hydraulics. That will tell you a lot.

As mentioned, look it over carefully and drive it to make sure everything functions properly, crawl under and check for leaks etc. As mentioned 500 hours on this tractor are nothing. I have 250+ on mine and consider it new. I traded my L5030 off at 1400+ and the guy who bought it was excited to find such a low hour machine.

Sorry, I can't help on the price as I know nothing about the implements on it, we rarely have snow down here and no one has blowers.

I bought a used L5740 with about 300 hours and a FEL on it about 4 months ago. It has a cab and had R4 tires on it. I LOVE IT!!!. I paid $32,000 for mine.

I have since put turf tires on it, because most of my work is on athletic fields.

At 500 hours it's time to change the hydraulic oil. That will cost you about $500 for oil and filters.

that tractor is basically like new,as said drive it and make sure everything works on it.

Very nice tractor,I have a L4240 HSTC I purchased new and currently has 870 hrs. on it.You can check www.tractorhouse.com for similar tractors and prices;the front blower is going to add maybe $5000.
Ask to see any service work that was done,should have had 100hr.,200hr.and 400hr.

Makes sure everything works, Loader bucket sets straight (not sprung). Makes sure loader and wheel bolts are tight, not any broken off, or wheel holes "egged" out from running with loose bolts. Makes sure all filters are white NOT Kubota gray as those would be the original and indicate filter services were not done. The hydraulic fluid should have been changed at 400 hours.
As said 500 hours is pretty new.

Thanks for all the input. I put it off until tomorrow due to the rain, I really want to see the machine dry to check it. Local dealers don't have any records of the maintenance so we will see how it looks when I get there. I'll keep everyone posted tomorrow night!!

If buying from an individual, see if he kept records of maintenance, I keep receipts of all items purchased for our tractors as we do all of our own maintenance.
