add on loader

I am mounting an older 703 loader on a 68 ford 3000. everything bolted right up no problem. I am wondering since the tractor has aux hydraulic connections , couldn't I hook up directly to the tractor system instead of using the external pump that came with the loader?

Does the loader have its own control valve that you want to tp use the aux to power or are you wanting to use the aux function to directly operate the loader?

Yea it has a separate two valve control unit fed by a standard pressure line that comes from a pump that mounts on front of the tractor and is supposed to be driven by the crank pulley.

I'd opt to use that crank driven pump as it is the proven system for that loader setup.
Also it will save the engine pump for steering and 3-point plus save U buying priority valve and probably other misc hose and fittings.

On my CUT I have a 2 pump system and it has been flawless for 7-8 yrs as is my pals B7100 installation.
In my case the aux pump actually had a far better capacity making my FEL a pleasure to use vs the tractor OEM pump which was painfully slow.
Another plus is an aux pump is generic while the tractor integrated one will be model specific and more costly if ever in need of replacement.
Just be sure you have a filter installed.
