Acetylene rationing

/ Acetylene rationing #43
This is the second time you have made an Ad Hominem attack on me.

I certainly never made "lite" of the workers deaths nor am I insensitive to their deaths. I never made reference to it in my original post so where do you get the idea that I am?

I repeat...the two events are related to the explosion BUT NOT TO EACH OTHER. Allow me to use a Venn diagram to illustrate why they aren't.

B is the plant explosion, C is the workers deaths and A is the shortage of acetylene. As you can see, both A and C are related to the explosion but have no relationship to each other.

Soundguy just got owned...LOL

"if you weren't making lite, then ia accept that. it's not always easy to tell in written communication."

How much easier do you want it to be...he said 2x that he wasn't making lite of the deaths!

wow.. this place gets more 'family friendly' every day...

The first time he mentioned it his argument with the comment still sounded descending.. with his 2nd post stating he wasn't speaking down about it I acknowledged and accepted that.

The Airgas guy told me to take my tanks to the plumbing supply to swap them since I don't have an account with Airgas. He said they supply the plumbing supply. If I knew how to make one of Mace's charts, this would be a good time to.

I did not read anything insensistive...yet

Red herring is an idiomatic expression referring to the rhetorical or literary tactic of diverting attention away from an item of significance.[1] For example, in mystery fiction, where the identity of a criminal is being sought, an innocent party may be purposefully cast in a guilty light by the author through the employment of false emphasis, deceptive clues, 'loaded' words or other descriptive tricks of the trade. The reader's suspicions are thus misdirected, allowing the true culprit to go (temporarily at least) undetected. A false protagonist is another example of a red herring.

Hoarding the supply of a commodity to drive up the price, but blaming the shortage on an unfortunate accident, is a red herring. It is directing attention to the accident, when the act of hoarding is the actual culprit (or item of significance for the more literate).
