Took the missus to go test drive, Green, Orange and Blue and there was no debate. We decided on the 4310. It was a great fit in every way!

Heres the deal:

Deere 4310 HST MFWD
430 Loader
47 Backhoe
R4's

$22000.00
no tax, $75.00 delivery

Yeah, the 47 is small, but it is $4800, a chunk of change, we really can't justify the 48 for our needs.

I already have a small Bush Hog, and plan to go larger, later.

How does that look?

Going for the HST, I think your going to like it. No tax, I'm envious. I have priced out similar sizes from Kubota, JD and NH (no hoe) your price looks pretty good. Good luck. Rat...

Congratulations, you will love your new machine!

It amazes me how my wife can make a snap decision (and supply a good reason) on most anything I've been mulling over and can't quite seem to make up my mind on. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yeah, mine too. But just try and choose a new dress....

But my wife knew I'd drilled things down, and it is amazing how quickly she saw what she DIDN't like. She gets a lot of seat time, so she needs to like it /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

As for no tax, we could get a Farm Use tax permit, but that has other implications. But I live near the border of three states, and one of my closest dealers is in Missouri, and there would be no tax accross the line.

That price looks excellent to me. I am paying about $1000 more for the same rig less the backhoe but including 4 implements that retail for about $5300.

I Dunnit!

My in state dealer called and asked if I was ready to deal, when I mentioned his price being about $3200 higher than my other quote, he came back to match it. They really seem like a great outfit, but we decided to go with the guy who gave me the great price up front. My accountant also thought I was better going that route, as there is a tax differance (both are none, but one none wasn't as good as another none...)

We made the trip over to Missouri. The dealers name is Tristate Hardware, and it is an honest to gosh hardware store, with Green tractors. The folks there are the very best kind, and we could not be more pleased. We ordered the 4310, loader and backhoe. Now comes the wait.

Funny, how, after growing up in a Big City, I have really come to appreciate small town folks, and staight honest business. No big flash, not a lotta glitz. You look the owner in the eye, and know your deal is good. I met the mechanic who will do my prep, and do the plumbing. Great all around experience.

now to wait..
