I just got a 52" First Choice Tiller a couple weeks ago for $1070. I've used it a couple of times now and it seems to be a very solid piece of equipment.

That's what I tried the first year too and those old field grasses & weeds just LOVED that fertilizer. The vegetable plants were in there too - just hard to find among the weeds and it was hard to cut the weeds without getting the veggies.

What I'm going to try this year is as soon as the weeds start growing - which is usually too early to plant veggies due to frost risk, I'm going to spray the weeds with roundup, give it a week to work and then till and plant.

It's here, it's here. Still on my trailer on a pallet, but purty and orange. Hopefully I can get it unpacked and setup and a trial run on Saturday morning and afternoon. Too busy with work and a show to MC on Friday and gotta get those taxes done Saturday at noon.

I tilled all the garden spot and it did a wonderful job. I'm really pleased I basically had no clue on what I was doing when I started, heck the garden looks great. I'm going till it one more time this week (hopefully) with the tiller going as deep as possible.
I tilled the small plots on the hillside (kinda funny saying that since both places are level) and did wonderful.

The powder coating, will looks like all the paint is still on the unit : ) it's just orange with dirt now.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd buy the same tiller for Sweet Tractors. No complaints whatsoever.

Now...if my garden sucks it'll be the tillers fault!

I must have gotten a raw deal! My new 52" First Choice tiller is BLUE. Burnt orange 'Bota with a Bright blue tiller - definitely catches the eye!

As for a potentially funky garden ... it seems harsh to blame that eventuality on a piece of machinery that worked so hard for you. Maybe ... you could blame it on ... SWMBO! (and then head for the hills!)

A raw deal, or a good deal, is in the eyes of the beholder. Since my tractor is a Boomer, I'd actually appreciate the blue one. With my luck though, they're probably color coded for size. I want the smaller one, so I'll probably wind up with orange. Nothing at all against orange, but the combination of blue and orange - as you point out - doesn't seem all that appealing. Oh well, once it's covered in dirt, who's to know or care.

Hey Ret,,,,,, Just had to reply to this. Seems like we are just the opposite. I have an orange one behind my blue tractor. It looks much better behind my Kioti 3054. I was raised in N.O. La. now in WNC. Although I do make a crawfish run every year, and just gotta have a sloppy roastbeef po-boy, dressed. Was just there a couple of weeks ago.
