A small leak

   / A small leak #41
The dealer installed a new fitting yesterday. The new fitting part number is SBA198736150. It's the same shape as the old one with the hose fitting on the side. The new one is a darker gray than the old one was. Time will tell if the leak is fixed. Actually, now that the weather is warming up, I probably won't know until next winter.

Well yesterday the dealer told me there is a "phase II" to the fix. Apparently the fitting and valve they now put in the block only seals in one direction. So, the coolant pressure coming from the radiator down through the normal drain valve and back up again to the valve in the block, can leak out through the brass part of the fitting. The second part of the fix is to replace the normal drain valve with one that is not "flow-through" and has only one hose connection and then leave the hose from the new block fitting/valve to serve as a drain for the block. Since they still have my tractor, I haven't seen how it all turns out yet.

A mechanic came out from the dealership and fixed mine again. Don't know what he did but ther is no leak now. I can see some black goop around the brass center screw but as long it's not leaking I'm not going to mess with it.
