A novel PT 425 Use

It has pretty much replaced the forks except it won't handle the weight the forks will. I've had over 300# on it and it handled that fine. 400# would be the maximum I'd want to put on it without beefing it up some more. Another 2x4 in the middle would make it somewhat stronger. However, since its further out front and the leverage is increased I don't think it could safely handle much more than that anyway.

I'm going to build short versions to mount my ATV sprayer and an ATV spreader this fall.

I have the FIMCO ATV 15-2. The tank and a battery box nestle into the 4n1 bucket width. It sprays with a 15' wand or it can cover 80" with a two nozzle boom setup which could easily be mounted on the front of the small plaform I plan to build. The pressure is better than most others and it has a gauge which made it more desireable. I purchased it at TSC for $195. I can post a picture of this when I get my small platform built (probably be early October).

FIMCO also makes a 26 gal version which is near the same width and has even higher pressure. If I had a need for that I would have went with that one at $299.

I have not purchased a spreader yet. I was leaning toward Cabela's Bumper Buddy but is sounds like there may be a wart or two with it. I'll probably go with it anyway as I need something pretty quickly. The nice thing about it is that it has a 4' to 6' spreader plate which would work nicely on my subdivision yard and a larger spreader plate for bigger stuff.

If I need anything bigger on the farm I can rent pull stuff locally.

Your platform setup is certainly a good utilization of the 4 in 1 bucket. It creates sort of an additional quick connect system as long as the addon is not too heavy. From the front view picture it looks like the 4 in 1 is wider than the tread width of the 425 (maybe not if you wide track it like 14). Is the 4 in 1 capcity between the 5cf small bucket and the 10 cf large bucket to your knowledge?

Both the rock bucket and the 4n1 are 45" wide. The 4n1 is a tad deeper when compared side by side, so its cubic capacity may be 6' as compared with 5' for the rock bucket. The LM bucket is 48" and way deeper to give it the 10 cu ft capacity.

I guess this could relate to a 1430 use.

I am putting up small pole barn and used 1430 to move the trusses into position before raising them up. Worked very well and saved the back for other things that day.

Very similar deal, probably more involved. Did you build any anything special to attach to the tractor or implement for that?

Negative. Just stood the trusses up and lifted them with the corner of the grapple bucket. Worked well. Just picked them up under the peak of the truss. Moved them to the inside of the pole barn and lifted them up onto the frame of the building with my bucket truck. Both the 1430 and the truck saved alot of labor.
