It took some thinking to come up wilth your approach! It seems like when one gets one of these versatile tractors it doesn't take long until the approach to any outside job is "How can I use my tractor to make this job easier?".

I suspect my next "novel" use will be removal of a basketball goal embedded in 2' of concrete.

Not novel but that will be after dethatching yard with the 60" rake and seeding a few bare spots. I'm thinking I can use the 4n1 sprayer setup for keeping the newly seeded areas wet until the grass comes up.

I like to hear stories like yours because it fuels the imagination!

Your right on target, every project I do has a "PT425 Can Do" approach.
Projects that I took on prior to buying the 425 came at a much younger age and the body could take on these tasks. Now its take on these tasks but let the 425 do the work.

I saw a 25 gal. sprayer in Northern Tool with a broadcast nozzle. I am thinking of simply attaching the tank to the top of my engine compartment and setting the nozzle to simply spray out the rear of the machine with a 14 foot path.

Seems as it would work anyway. Total cost including shipping is about $220.00. Would be better than the boom method as I would probalby be bending them all the time!

I don't know why that wouldn't work. I like the idea of nozzles versus boom to keep things simpler.

However, I like the idea of putting it in the bucket with a simple platfrom as its easier to mount, see the guage, and control the height from the spray level as that is critical. The only drawback I can see is that you're driving over the sprayed area and I'm not sure how big a problem that would be. Any thoughts on that?

I wonder if this will be as even a distribution as many nozzles on a boom? It might put more liquid near the center. Don't know that it's a problem, you just might want to ask or test.
With several nozzles the spray pattern overlaps at the ends and compensates for the weaker pattern there. IMHO

( I have also beeen thinking of a spray unit to mount to spray to the rear of the PT for weed control. I have seen such an item on a ATV and thought it would work on the PT.
Maybe one of those tanks from TSC.

I used the forks to create a tank sprayer platform up front. Here's the link Ultimate Tank Sprayer

I used the battery from the PT - just a lot of wire to hook it up.

I'd love to get the 4 in 1. Just a little spendy. However, you and Pajoube have shown me just how useful they can be!

Sincerely,

Good questions...it is advertised as a "boomless" sprayer and still sprays 14 ft path.....never have seen one before.

Never thought of the other nozzles compensating for each other...makes sense though.

Is that a spot sprayer or a boom sprayer?

Perhaps putting the tank in the bucket would work best the more I think about it.

I would doubt that driving over the sprayed area would make much of a difference...but then again it could.

Saw some pellets the other day to add to the spray so one can see where they have sprayed. Washes/fades in two days. Somewhere along the lines of food coloring?
