A little late

Finally got the roll of film in my camera developed, so here's a picture of my tractor. It was "new" in February, but could still pass for new I think /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.

Rob- Great lookin' rig! Congratulations!

Did you use your tiller to prep the area under the large tree? If so, did you have any problems hitting/missing the tree's roots? I just tried doing some very shallow tilling under one of our trees yesterday and mangled a major root badly. I'm having second thoughts about doing more of this /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif.

Yep, the tiller is a LandPride. The model is RTA 1550, and it has the optional slip clutch and "plate" hitch. I have used it to put in some new flower beds along one of our fences, and the put in a small vegetable garden and I'm very happy with it. I was a little cautious with it at first, since I was turning in existing lawn - the sound of the rocks pinging off the rear deflector is a little loud at first. Now I'm confident that it will handle anything I will be throwing at it.

No, we didn't try tilling that area first, partly because the lawn was a little thin in that area anyway, and partly because of what you mentioned. We have a lot of trees and I ended up snagging some roots doing the tilling in other areas of the property, so I figured I'd leave that maple alone.
