My background/interest I'm responsible for a sportsfield complex in the UK. We have 23 acres of grass fields used for Rugby and Soccer. In addition we have a floodlit asto pitch for soccer and hockey plus a cricket square.
We have some 300 Mini and Junior Rugby players, 85 senior players plus 250 junior soccer players and around 150 for hockey, plus Squash and Rifle shooting.
In terms of kit we run a quad bike for maintaining the astro, 2 tractors a Kioti EX 35 and an old Hinomoto E2303. Attachments include Verti-drain unit, grassland spiker, slitter, Groundsman 345HD, over-seeders x2 one 3 point one pedestrian plus around half a dozen pedestrian mowers for general use and maintaining the cricket square, plus a 1.4 three blade trailed rotary finishing mower and a set of 5 old Greens Ranger gang mowers.
On-site parking for around 300 cars We have one full time groundsman. So we have plenty to do. We use the Kioti which is an excellent piece of Kit for the heavy work, slitting , vertidraining etc and the Hinomoto for brushing the grass, harrowing and light spiking. Oh yes,.......... and I'm a volunteer who isn't paid!
