Good to hear they're on the trail.Fuel cutoff:confused: Mine is manual, I can't see how it could stick closed; another reason to stick with gears and levers rather than solenoids,et.al. You're fortunate to be where you are as we got 8'' of the white stuff Mon. with a foot forecast for tonite into tomorrow:rolleyes:

My pump has the electric selonoid activated by ignition switch, plus a manual lever on top of the unit. I may have been able to get it running breifly by "playing" with the manual lever. The tech told me that it's a shaft with gears on it(maybe bevel & worm setup?, those that've seen the insides might know better) and it is not engaging properly to release fuel to the injectors. It is not the electronics that are screwing up as the selonoid sounds and feels like it's trying to do it's job properly. Appears to be the mechanical internals that are fubared.

We got about six inches in last storm but are just(within 10 miles) missing the Lake Effect dump today. I'm down to the 5hp JD snowblower for awhile. Which works fine for light stuff but when you're used to the convenience of a tractor..................................:)

So - If it's the fuel -cut off why did it run wide open on you one time ? And if it's just the cut-off why are they replaceing the pump ? I didn't hear the fat lady sing yet !

I don't have a good answer for ya..............

...............I was messing around with the manual lever though.

Probably just easier to replace it as a unit than tear it apart and replace individual pieces. I'll leave that for the techies. I know basically how a desiel works but have no idea what the insides of an injector pump look like. They'll probably send it back for rebuilding maybe? Besides it's being replaced under warranty and sounds like I'll have my machine back in short order. It's all good (or will be when the orange beast is back in my garage).;)

Shaft with gears on it, sounds like the rack to me. Doesn't really matter as long as they fix it, but it would be nice to know they have some idea what they are talking about:confused:

Wait a minute........
It's been twelve hours since your 'slimfast' post.
Are you saying the slimfast hasn't worked yet?

Maybe you mistakenly got the 'slimslow'.

It's a common error.
