A good deal?

I have an opportunity to purchase a 2003 Bx 2200 with 96 hrs. Also included is a 60" MMM, a 48" bush hog brand rotary cutter, a front blade and a set of mounted ag tires. The tractor appears to be in very good condition. The owner purchased this new and is asking $6500.00 firm.

Does this sound like a good deal? Thank you for any advice.

Lot of tractor, you mught want to make sure it's not owned by the bank or someone else. Just be carefull.

I'd put this in the "too good to be true" category if it is online or otherwise un-viewable for whatever reason.

But if you've laid eyes on it and it appears legit (not parked behind some guy's trailer at the back of the park with the Lexus and Jaguar), I'd be all over it like butter on bread. 96 hours in 5 years? Wow. It should look pretty good if that's the case. I have 200 hours in 2.5 years and I think MINE looks pretty good.

Thanks for all the input! Your comments will help to convince the wife on this deal. The tractor is being sold locally. It looks nearly new, no leaks, no smoke and no unusual noise. Our local dealer has the sales records so it appears all ligitmate. Now I just need to sell the JD318.

Absolutely agree. This is one of those deals that lasts HOURS, not weeks. I'd figure a way to get this thing wrapped up pronto. There is no way it is going to hang around for long.

Put another way: I could buy this tractor, sell my tractor, and make out several thousand dollars to the good as a return for my time.

I'd get the BX2200 And Keep the JD318 for the close in tighter spaces.
I use a Kubota BX1500 for that .
It's a great supplimetnt to my BX23.

Nothin wrong with having 2 tractors.
Heck having 3 tractors ain't bad either.

I went to pick it up today with check in hand and it been sold an hour earlier. I'm kicken myself now for missing what sounded like a great deal. Lesson learned!

I know the felling:
I drug my feet and lost out on a real good deal on a 98 JD x455 with only 400 hours for $3500 a while back.
Looking back on it I'm glad I missed out on it because had I gotten it I probably wouldn't have the 2 BX1500s I have now which is what I really wanted any how.
