A few simple mods.

Nothing fancy like some here but got a start on a few things.Moved the small tool box to the front and put a larger one on the back.

Only had a step on one side so made another one.

Made a bracket and bolted it to existing one that all rwady had threaded holes to hole my chain saw.

The chain saw can come in and out or the whole scabbard can come off.

Friction fit very tight.

There will be a few more before I'm happy eg. move the key.
I'd like to thank everyone for all the inspiration I get here.

Nice mods, I especially like the pex on the loader tube level indicator. I have the exposed part of the rod painted, but it requires touching up the paint to often. Will be buying a piece of pex very soon. One thing I did was extend the parking brake lever.

I like the rear hydraulic lever extension... those are short! Have to use fingertips to move them as is. Thanks.

Looks good!

I've also enjoyed adding LED lights, a home grown tool tray and more to my tractor and utv. Really makes them your own doesn't it? I could easily pick either of mine out of a line up of hundreds of the same model.

I wanted a way to carry a shovel. This is the only way I could figure out to carry it. Granted, I have to remove the shovel when I use the back hoe, but I have to get off of the tractor to operate it any way, so I don't see it as a big inconvenience.

Finally did copied Amvcane's park break idea and used what I had laying around much easier than bending down trying to find the lever.

Nice work Bill. I like how you made the rod slide up and down and not lever further into the operators station. Old printers are excellent sources of gears rods and springs.
Now we need a pic of your new toolbox. Mine is just a metal box I had lying around. Magnet on back of seat to hold the lid open, and three magnets go on the box to hold the SMV sign when I take to the road.

I'm with Derek, personalization is King.

There are those that will say their tractor is perfectly built and requires no modifications. I say they are simply pacifists or lack the drive to make the modifications. I've done 12 modifications to the Kubota. 4 to the Ford so far.

No new tool box yet but this morning was the day I did something about the floor mat on the Kioti. It hangs over 1/4" and I found my toe often hooked and pulled it up so this was my solution.

Very simple.....

I have a shoulder injury and find it hard to adjust the 3 pt. with the short factory handle. My son suggested an extension and this is my solution. I had these old broken tree prunning loppers laying around that looked like they may work. I chop sawed the arm and it fits over the factory lever without modification. The extension works very well, much easier on my shoulder. I may shorten the length but for now it's a keeper. Also, it slips off easily and will be removed when I put the backhoe back on. Tractor in an Kubota L48. See the pics.

I was looking, reading and re-reading the description on the picture, spent 15 min. trying to figure out what that lever did, then scrolled the page down and read the description on top of the pic. Now that lookssss like a good idea, I can see how it can make it easier by not reaching down to the floor board to release the brakes, but but but to me what would be more helpful is, if it make's it easier to Know/tell/see/ if the ding dong dang brakes are set.

Oldpath it works flawless just push the break barely have to push the knob and the breaks are set. I'm stopping on steep hills every day and the tractor stays put defiantly the mod most used and handiest on my tractor.

Don't want to take over the thread but since this thread inspired the mod I figured I'd post it here. Unlike Billrog's, my parking break lever must be pulled up not pushed down. But like Billrog's the lever is way down low and directly above the brake pedals (on the left for my HST model MX4800). It is spring loaded and automatically disengages. However, because of the position you have to crunch over and try to simultaneously lift the lever and push hard on the brakes. The body mechanics of this make forcefully pressing on the brakes difficult.

So instead of a rod I used 3/16" braided stainless steel cable routed straight through the dash to a knob that can be easily pulled from the normal operators position. The only permanent change is a 1/4" hole drilled in the dash for a plastic grommet type thing. I routed the cable trough some old pressure washer tube to prevent the braided cable from rubbing on and wires in the dash. And ferrule and a stop to hold it all together and some heat shrink on the bottom connection to prevent the cable end from poking the sh**t out of me. The knob I found at Lowes. The whole set-up is pretensioned with the lever spring so it won't rattle around.
